a) AWI Finishing System Number or Finishing Technology and Performance Characteristics shall be specified by the design professional.

b) In absence of a design professional’s specified AWI Finishing System Number or Finishing Technology, selection of the AWI Finishing System Number or Finishing Technology shall be at the option of the manufacturer/supplier.

c) Application of finishes shall comply with coating manufacturer’s documented instructions.

a) Surface preparation shall comply with coating manufacturer’s documented instructions and AWI Standards to meet the specified aesthetic grade.

b) Sharp edges shall be eased.

b) Sanding is not required after factory priming.

c) A minimum of one coat primer/sealer shall be applied to raw wood concealed surfaces of components that receive a factory finished surface, excludes concealed edges.
